Rubicon 03:21
Rubicon Do you wish upon the stars Watch them sparkle and fade? Would you dance in the dark, Where the streets have no name? Will you be My Rubicon? Cross with me The Rubicon, Just a shallow stream forty miles long Where the rivers end, seas continue on. When you look up at the sky Do you dream about it too: If we were not afraid How much more would we do? Will you be My Rubicon? Cross with me The Rubicon, Just a shallow stream forty miles long Where the rivers end, seas continue on. I'll go seek the Great Perhaps Cast the die, we live but once- So great stories go - Will you be My Rubicon? Cross with me The Rubicon, Just a shallow stream forty miles long Where the rivers end Where the rivers end Where the rivers end, seas continue on.

Edge of the World You say hello In my car in a parking lot. So much to say, we don't talk, it's absurd and scary to move when you're perched at the edge of the world. What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly, what if you fly? Wish I could hold, hold you close in my arms like I do in my mind. Maybe next life around. You turn away, Run your hand through your hair and wait. Rain outside falls angry and fast, Hitting walls you built in your heart I don't seem to get past. What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly, what if you fly? Wish I could hold, hold you close in my arms like I do in my mind. Maybe next life around. I try to smile, change my mind and sit next to you, quiet. Smoke in your eyes or cigarette ash I watch you open the door and look over the edge. What if I go? Oh, but my darling, what if you stay, what if you stay? Wish you would hold, hold me close in your arms somewhere someday. Maybe we'll be okay.

To the Dogs 03:22
To the Dogs Not everything that's broken is asking to be fixed some words are best unspoken, some wounds are best unstitched, some scheduled appointments it’s better to have missed some letters-leave unopened some lips-pass up unkissed and when your heart is broken let it bleed and when your heart is broken let it bleed Not everything in darkness yearns to feel the light not everything that's flightless is dreaming to take flight sometimes there are no patterns, no clear black and white no learning to be patient there's just no end in sight and when those dogs are sleeping, let them lie and if those dogs are sleeping, let them lie Let them lie, let it be let it hurt and let it bleed let it go, far out of reach but how do you tell when is which?! Not everything unknown wants to be revealed, not every straw that's woven into gold is real though nothing lasts forever each moment is complete, no way to make it better less bitter or more sweet so when your heart is broken, let it bleed and if your heart is breaking, let it bleed and when your heart is aching, let it.

Without a Word I think I talk a lot You say you can tell And it might be just as well. ‘cause I promise you That this much is true: I am a good listener too. So tell me 'bout your hopes, about your fears Tell me why the current flows so fast on this river, tell me Without a word About your world And all of its pieces And I promise, I promise, I'll listen. Do you think of me On a rainy day When the world seems bleak and grey? I'll admit it's true When I think of you All my greys just turn to blue. I'll tell you 'bout my hopes about my fears I'll tell you when the sun comes Just over these fields, I'll tell you Without a word About my world And all of its wishes If you promise, You promise, You'll listen. Ooh Oh tell me 'bout your dreams, the songs you sing Tell me 'bout the sky at night Wherever you sleep-I'll listen Without a word, Just tell me your world With all of its secrets. And I promise, I promise, I'll keep 'em.

Take Your Time Loving Me I'm hardly your Juliet And what do you bet You don't ride no white horse Hell, we don't know how we met. Guess the stars misaligned And the whiskey set you free For just one night, so take your time Loving me. You ain't no Prince Charming And I am through with love But we keep chasing one another Like ships in the night. And with every year that passes It gets harder to see But it's fine, take your time Loving me. Oh, take your time, wait for love Oh, I don’t mind, I’ll wait for love Love ain't all fairy tale Tucked up on the shelf. It ain't you against the dragon, no, It's you against yourself. Though we cast our own dark shadows And we swim our own rough seas I'm not scared! Take your time Loving me.

about

Born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, but now calling Philadelphia her home, singer-songwriter Julia Levitina is bringing a global perspective to her unique brand of Americana. Subtly blending in Russian and French folk influences from her youth, her debut EP, Take Your Time Loving Me, is a snapshot of an artist who has literally and figuratively crossed oceans and seas to pursue her dreams. The record's opening track, "Rubicon," is about putting fear aside and taking risks while on a quest for fulfillment. Says Levitina, "The Rubicon is a shallow river in Italy that Julius Caesar crossed, starting a civil war that he eventually won. This song, and the entire record really, are about finding courage to go the distance."
